Ife Iyan

This project is about the experience of existing with 2 cultures. The artist explores her place as a member of the African Irish diaspora. She does this using the yam, a food she grew up eating to explore the term "globalisation". Discovering how one can be all and all can be one. Holding a performance / interactive work in which she cooks on Moore Street in Dublin, a street for sellers with a rich history from the 1916 Rising in which independence for Ireland was fought for, but also today is a street where many black business owners have developed businesses also. Co- habitation, as a result and means to create peace. Publication of home made yam recipes presented in the project and also to be purchased post performance.
